Joseph Injured in Win over Cincinnati

The Syracuse Orange won on Saturday against Cincinnati but lost a key component when forward Kris Joseph (15.3 PPG) left the game due to injury. Late in the first half Joseph drove down the lane and crashed to the floor amongst a group of Cincinnati defenders, hitting his had badly on the hardwood.

Joseph's injury may not have greatly impacted this game, as the Orange (18-0, 5-0) won easily, 67-52. His absence will be felt, though, if he misses Monday's game in Pittsburgh, a battle for sole possession of first place in the Big East.

Coach Jim Boeheim sounded uncertain, stating "We won't know anything for sure. Obviously, it would be unlikely that he would be able to turn around with a Monday game."

As of now, it appears that Syracuse will be without its leading scorer in arguably its biggest game of the season so far.
