There were five more OT's the last time they met, but Syracuse (26-7, 12-6) and Connecticut (25-9, 9-9) still made it interesting. Scoop Jardine hit two clutch threes in the last 20 seconds of regulation to extend the game, but the Orange lost in overtime, 76-71.
Unlike when their meeting last month, this time Syracuse couldn't contain Kemba Walker:
- After the game he said, "I was mad when we went to the first overtime. I wanted to win and didn't want to go to another one and another one." A mad Kemba Walker isn't a good sign for Syracuse.
- Angry Kemba had a complete performance, going off for 33 points, 12 rebounds, 6 steals and 5 assists.
- Walker scored half of the Huskies' 8 points in overtime. He scored more than all of the Orange, who could manage only 3 points in the extra period.
- His 111 points through four Big East Tournament games is a record for most points scored in a single Big East Tournament.

Some other bits of tid from last night:
- Kemba's Crew showed up tonight as well. Alex Oriakhi had 15 points and 11 rebounds before fouling out with less than a minute left in overtime, and Jeremy Lamb added 11 points.
- The Huskies also benefitted at the charity stripe, going 22 for 28 on free throws while Syracuse was just 5 for 11.
- Scoop Jardine and Kris Joseph led the Orange attack, combining to take 41 of Syracuse's 76 shots. Jardine and Joseph both finished with 20 points.
- As a team the Orange shot well from three, hitting 10 of 24, good for 41.7%.
- However Brandon Triche was 0 for 4 from three, not surprising considering he was 2 for 9 shooting overall. He had just 4 points.
- Rick Jackson had another Rick Jackson night, scoring 12 points on 6 of 10 shooting and grabbing 8 rebounds.
- Fab Melo played his disappearing act again, playing just 14 minutes. He had more fouls (4) than points (0) and rebounds (3) combined.
- Does this win give Connecticut a 3 seed over Syracuse? The Huskies have more big wins (vs. Kentucky, at Texas, Pitt), but I can't see them ahead of the Orange unless they beat Louisville tonight to win the Big East Tournament. A loss to the Cardinals gives the Huskies 10 on the year. Hard to see Syracuse seeded below a team with double digit losses.
- The worst part about this game? I didn't go see the game, but during the second half, I was literally underneath the action waiting for my train at Penn Station.
